I thought I would share with you my holiday reading!
I recently sailed to Norway on the amazing RCI Explorer of the Seas, we got out on some amazing walks most mornings but the weather was a little dull and wet so I had time to read a couple of books. Whilst huddled under blankets on deck I read these books that have been on my “to read” list for some time. I have popped a couple of holiday pictures in for you!
Neither book is specific to dentistry but both have valid tips and ideas that can be applied to the world of dentistry.
If you are serious about utilising social media then this one is for you “The Art of Social Media” by Guy Kawasaki and Peg Fitzpatrick.
I would recommend the digital version as there are lots of clickable links (I have the paper version) this book contains great tips for maximising your social media presence, profile optimisation, planning, posting and so much more. No one knows the future but it is estimated that currently 31 million people use Facebook, 51% are female and 60% of internet users have Facebook. Twitter has 15 million users two thirds of which are under 34 and 80% use it on their mobiles. (Source http://www.thelasthurdle.co.uk/demographics-of-uk-social-media-users/) Why would you not want to tap into this market?
Communication was the topic for my next read, “Drop the Pink Elephant” by Bill McFarlan.
15 ways to say what you mean…. And mean what you say. Whether communicating with your team, your patients or even friends and family this book will really help you realise why sometimes things don’t go as you expected. Make your words count in a few simple lessons. How to spot and then drop the pink elephant.
If you are one of my customers drop me an email and I am happy to loan these or any of the other books I have read.
See you soon
